Vononda Beth Terry

Vononda Beth Terry 78 years old of Duncan, OK went to her heavenly home on October 10, 2022.

Vononda Beth Terry was born in Duncan, OK on October 22, 1943.  She was the 2nd of 5 children born to Arthur C. Sager and Alpha Mae Wheeler.

Vononda graduated from Duncan High School in 1962 and received her Beautician’s License in 1965

She caught the eye of Robert George Terry and they were married on August 26, 1967 Robert and Vononda had two children, Monica Kristine 1968 and Kyle Lee 1970.

During the course of her life, Vononda worked as a beautician, and while Robert was in the military she was a stay at home mom.  After Robert retired from the military she worked in the cafeteria at Emerson Elementary School in Duncan, OK.  Following her elementary school employment, she began working in the janitorial department at Halliburton.  

Vononda was a Christian woman; known for her compassion for others. She enjoyed going to church and reading her bible. But above all else, she fiercely loved her Lord, and Savior, Jesus Christ.

Vononda is preceded in death by her father Arthur C. Sager; her mother, Alpha Mae Sager; her grandson Jarred Zachery Hendrix, her sister, Linda Sager Lawson; her brother Calvin Lynn Sager; and her husband, Robert George Terry

She is survived by her sister, Sharon Suson and husband James of Duncan, OK; Brother, Arthur Lee (Buck) Sager and wife Geraldine of Duncan, OK

Her son, Kyle Lee Terry and wife, Susan of Owasso, OK; Her daughter Monica Kristine Elgin and husband Jack in Eufaula, OK; Granddaughters Brittney Farkas and husband Ryan of Fort Wayne, Indiana; Mya Terry, of Oklahoma City; OK; Audrey Terry of Owasso, OK; Grandson, Jake Terry of Rolla, MO; Great Grandsons Alex and Logan Farkas of Fort Wayne, Indiana. And many loved cousins, nieces and nephews.

Funeral services will be held at New Beginnings Family Worship Center (Gospel Beams) in Duncan, Friday, October 14, 2022 at 10:00a.m. with Rev. Harold Metheny, Rev. F. Ray Ledbetter and Rev. Johnny Gray officiating, interment will follow at Duncan Municipal Cemetery. Arrangements have been entrusted to the family care of the Carter-Smart Funeral Directors.

Pallbearers will be Curtis Suson, James Suson, Jacob Terry, Conner Sager, Bubba Headly, Ryan Farkas. Honorary Pallbearers will be Franko Coria, Alex Farkas, Mya Terry, Audrey Terry,Britney Farkas and Logan Farkas. 

Family visitation will be Thursday, October 13, 2022 at the Carter-Smart Funeral Home from 6:00-8:00 p.m.
