Deacon Robert Earl Culberson Sr.
Deacon Robert Earl Culberson Sr. went to be with the Lord on September 19, 2023.
Robert was born to Evelyn Culberson and Bobby Joe Rogers on July 27, 1956 in Waurika, Oklahoma. He lived most of his life as a resident of Duncan, Oklahoma. He attended Douglas School and Duncan High school. Robert married Charlotte Warren on July 12th. 1980. She has been the love of his life ever since. He was a deacon of Bethany Missionary Baptist Church, where he loved to serve the Lord.
Robert worked for Hagger Slacks for many years until they shut down; he then went to work for the City of Duncan for a total of 20 years, where many knew him as “BlackJack.” Robert loved sports, he played semi-pro basketball with family and friends. Robert’s love for his family was unconditional, his loving wife, beautiful kids and grandkids were his all. His humor was unmatched and could make you smile and laugh instantly. Robert was one of a kind, and everyone he came across became a friend. He enjoyed watching shows and sports with his son who was his pride and joy, Robert “J.R.” Culberson was his heart. Those two always found a way to win a domino or spade game even of it required cheating. He loved watching his youngest daughter play basketball. He was resilient and never let anything stop him. He was a great husband, father, grandfather, brother and friend and he was more than a conquer.
He was preceded in death by his mother; Evelyn Culberson, father; Bobby Joe Rogers, son; Tony Culberson, granddaughter, Unique Culberson, two aunts; Juanita Kennedy and Irma Jean Lacy, nephew; Quentin Culberson.
He leaves to cherish his memory his wife of 45 years, Charlotte Culberson, his three daughters; Naketha Culberson, Lakresha Culberson, D’Shala Culberson, two sons; Robert Earl Culberson Jr. and Divis Hightower, his five grandchildren; Shakeeia Culberson, Izaah Culberson, Zariyiah Culberson, Izik Culberson, Ronnie Jay “Rj”, four brothers; Billie (Nora) Culberson, Michael (Brittany) Culberson, Willie Culberson, Joe (Amanda) Rogers, four sisters; Mignon Rogers, Autumn Dodd, Wynter Lemons,Summer Rogers and Juanita Young, uncle; Larry Culberson Sr., special cousins; Denna “Ciscie” Averiett, goddaughter; Ikeia Averiett. A host of nieces,nephews, cousins, and friends that loved him dearly.
Pallbearers wil be Izaah Culberson, Izik Culberson, Michael Elix, Joshua Elix, Erick Claud, Eddie Culberson, Josh Peevy, Boochie Acklin, Chris Warren and Sidney Warren. Honorary pallbearers will be Robert Culberson Jr., Billy Joe Culberson, Michael Culberson, Willie Culberson, Larry Culberson Sr., Dana Lacy, David Lacy, Larry Culberson Jr., Michael Ford and Roger Weeks.

Funeral services will be 11:00 a.m. Monday, September 25, 2023 at the First Baptist Church with Rev. James Gorham officiating, interment will follow at the Henderson Harris Cemetery. Arrangements have been entrusted to the family care of Carter-Smart Funeral Directors.
The family will receive friends on Sunday evening from 3:00-5:00 p.m. at the Funeral Home.
