Rickie Don Bumpas

Rickie Don Bumpas, 69, of Duncan, Oklahoma, passed away Friday, January 21, 2022 at Duncan Regional Hospital.

Funeral service will be 2:00 p.m. Monday, January 31, 2022 at Bethesda Church of God with James Pinkerton officiating, interment will follow at the Duncan Cemetery. Arrangements have been entrusted to the family care of Carter-Smart Funeral Directors.

Family visitation will be Sunday afternoon January 30, 2022 at the Carter-Smart Funeral Home from 2:00-4:00.

Rick was born September 15, 1952 in Duncan, Oklahoma to Everrett and Daisy (Hudson) Bumpas. He was a graduate of Duncan High School, he was a veteran of the U.S. Marine Corp. and was discharged February 1, 1971, he retired from Cable One in Duncan. He was married to Dorothy JoAnn Bohannan on June 11, 1972 and JoAnn preceded him in death on March 14, 2018. 

Survivors include a son; Jimmy Don and his wife Tera Bumpas of Duncan, Oklahoma, and daughters; Jennifer Dee Luna of Duncan, Oklahoma, and Jana Bowen and her husband William of Duncan, Oklahoma, brothers; Raymond and his wife Tammy Bumpas of Duncan, Oklahoma and Gary and his wife Deanna of Chickasha, Oklahoma, sisters; Rebecca and her husband Glen Barnes Sr. of Duncan, Oklahoma and Cecilla and her husband Carl Bailey of Weatherford, Oklahoma, 11 grandchildren and 1 great-grandchild.

Rick was preceded in death by his wife; JoAnn Bumpas, daughter; Julia Bumpas in 1991, grandchild Lane Luna and his parents Everrett and Daisey Bumpas.

Pallbearers will be Gary Bumpas, Kenneth Myers, Glen Barnes Jr. William Bumpas, Cody Bailey and Chris Bumpas. Honorary pallbearers will be Raymond Bumpas and Glen Barnes Barnes Sr.
