Richard A. Glenn
Richard A. Glenn 88, of Duncan, Oklahoma, passed away Saturday, November 9, 2019 at the O.U. Medical Center in Oklahoma City with his family by his side.
Funeral services will be 1:30 p.m. Thursday, November 14, 2019 at Heritage Oaks Nazarene Church, with Rev. Eric Nahass and Rev.Bill Boles officiating, interment will follow at Resthaven Memorial Gardens, and arrangement have been entrusted to the family care of Carter-Smart Funeral Directors.
The family will receive friends on Wednesday evening form 6:00 to 7:30 p.m. at the Carter-Smart Funeral Home.
Richard was born Saturday, December 20, 1930 in Lawton, Oklahoma to William and Nina Lura (Shorter) Glenn, Richard was a veteran of the United States Army and he worked for Sun Oil Refinery until his retirement. He was a member of the Oak Avenue/ Heritage Oaks Nazarene Church, Richard married Dorothy Riley on October 23, 1954 in Ashland, New Jersey and to this union was born 3 sons; Richard Jr., William "Billy", and John.
Richard is survived by his wife Dorothy, of the home, sons; Richard Glenn, Jr. and his wife Carol of Velma,Oklahoma and John Glenn and his wife Renee of Duncan, Oklahoma. He is also survived by a sister; Beulah Woods of Oklahoma City, Oklahoma. Six grandchildren; Allen Glenn of Velma, Oklahoma, Brenda Thompson and spouse Sparky of Velma, Oklahoma, Christopher Yarbrough and wife Hannah of Oklahoma City, Oklahoma, and Rebekah Glenn, John Glenn, Jr. and Joshua Glenn of Duncan, Oklahoma and 3 great-grandchildren; Kassidee Thompson, Paisley Thompson, and Mabree Thompson of Velma, Oklahoma.
He was preceded in death by his parents; William and Lura Glenn; a son; William "Billy" Glenn; three brothers; Norval, Jesse, and Haskell, and one sister; Maxine.
Pallbearers will be Allen Glenn, Christopher Yarbrough, Ray Loghry, Johnny Cathey, Allan Huckabaa and Ron Mulkey.
Military Honors will be provided by the Stephens County Honor Guard.
