Kenneth Brown Obituary

Kenneth James Brown 75, of Midland, Texas formally of Duncan, passed away on Friday, July 16, 2021 at his son's home in Midland, Texas.

Funeral services will be 11:00 a.m. Wednesday, July 21, 2021 at Bethesda Church of God, with Rev. Harold Metheny officiating, interment will follow at the Duncan Cemetery. Arrangements have been entrusted to the family care of Carter-Smart Funeral Directors.

Family visitation will be Tuesday, at 6:00-8:00 p.m. at the Carter-Smart Funeral Home.

Kenneth was born September 6, 1945 in Lamesa, Texas to James Monroe & Bertha (Richter) Brown. Dad loved playing the guitar and singing country and gospel music. He loved Elvis collectibles and the Dallas Cowboy's. He had worked as a mechanic & truck driver before he retired, he married Phyllis Vest in Lubbock, Texas on March 9, 1972 and she preceded her in death on September 28, 2019, during his final days Dad talked about getting a truck and driving over the road again. Dad would cry about how much he missed the love of his life, Momma.

Kenneth is survived by his sons; Kenneth Brown Jr. & his wife Sue Jean of Midland, Texas and Bobby Brown & his wife Donna of Sulphur, Oklahoma, Paul Brown & his wife Stacy of Duncan, Oklahoma Shane Brown of Soboda, Arizona, and Terrance Brown, daughters; Shonna Hatfield & her husband Larry of Yukon, Oklahoma, Sylvia Branch & her husband Johnnie of Comanche, Oklahoma, Tammy Chance & husband James of Clyde, Texas, brother; Connie Ray & his wife Joy of Duncan, Oklahoma, sisters; Faye Pyles of Lubbock, Texas and Brenda Turner of Duncan, Oklahoma. Grandchildren;Lela Brown, Dakota Kaus, Chad Chance, Alyssa Campbell,Kamryn Hill,  Summer Hatfield, Autumn Hatfield, Amanda Brown,Elvis Poe, Derrick Weatherly, Peggy Weatherly, Brody Brown, Cody Brown and Aubree Buchanon, great-grandchildren; Tarrence Jones, Trenton Jones, Emerson Kaus, Lorelai Smith, Mercedes, Jacob, Emily, Makayla, AbileneMia, Dixie, Emeryl and Abigail. Several nieces and nephews, in-laws & out-laws.

Palbearers will be Nikki Brown, Chad Chance, Alyssa Campbell, Kenneth Lee Brown, Dominique Hill and Hunter Berry. Honorary pallbearers will be Larry Hatfield and James Chance.
