Jimmie was born on May 20, 1938 to James and Mable Cowan at home in Stephens County. She grew up with her sisters, Helen and Mayzell, and one brother Carl, in the Alma area where they also went to school. She met her lifelong friend Stella when they were young and they remained very good friends until Stella passed in 2018. Jimmie was married to Russell Turley Sr. on June 17, 1955 in Stephens County. Russell was in the Military so they moved around and saw much of the United States. They had three children, daughter Christella, two sons Russell Jr. and Richard.

Jimmie worked at many jobs in her lifetime while moving around as a military wife of a military officer, they settled down in Marlow where she worked for Goodner's grocery store in the meat market for several years, later worked for Halliburton services doing deliveries, and also worked at the Duncan public schools, in the cafeteria.

She loved to set with people and help them with their daily life, she also liked visiting the elderly in nursing homes and made many friends there. She would brighten their day by bringing them stained glass crosses, which she had made at home. Many family members and friends also have larger framed stained glass pictures, stepping stones, and wind chimes made by her. She loved putting puzzles together and working in her flower beds.

Jimmie is survived by her two sons; Russell Turley Jr. of Duncan, Richard and Terri Turley of Duncan, a sister; Mayzell Morris of Comanche, a brother; Carl Cowan of Comanche, 6 grandchildren, John Victor (JJ) and Tracie Hendershot, Emily Allison, and Kimberly Catlin, and Sarah Bohannan and Logan Turley, and 9 great-grandchildren; Ayden, Ryan, Liam Hendershot, Averie and Gavin Allison, Corbin and Harper Catlin, Hailey Bohannan and Grayson Rightmire.

She was preceded in death by her parents; James and Mable Cowan, husband; Russell Turley Sr., sister; Helen Wilson, daughter; Christella Hendershot, daughter-in-law; Patricia (Pattie) wife of Russell Turley Jr.

Pallbearers will be Brandon Allison, Corey Catlin, Logan Turley, Leland Morris, Austin Wren and Justin Wren.
