James William Suson
James William Suson, 82, of Duncan, Oklahoma passed away Wednesday, December 14, 2022 at his home, with his family by his side.
Graveside funeral services will be 2:00 P.M. Friday, December 16, 2022 at Ft. Sill National Cemetery, arrangements have been entrusted to the family care of Carter-Smart Funeral Directors.
James was born June 14, 1940 in Duncan, Oklahoma to James (Jim) M. & Ella Mae (Edwards) Suson, he graduated from Walters High School in 1956, he worked for the Duncan Public School System until his retirement, he was a veteran of the United States Air Force, he loved golfing and golfed everyday until his health prevented him from playing, when his great-grandson attended Horace Mann School he volunteered four years at Horace Mann School. He enjoyed spending time with his great-grandson Eric. His goal was to watch Eric grow up, he wanted to see him drive a car and graduate from High School. Although he didn’t make it to see those things he and Eric had some good years. He also loved watching Eric play football. James married Sharon K. Sager on January 18, 1964 in Duncan and were married 58 years and to this union were born three sons; Leonard Mark, Curtis Paul and James Olan.
James is survived by his wife; Sharon of the home, son’s Leonard Mark Suson and his wife JoJo, Curtis Paul Suson and his wife Donna, and James Olan Suson and his wife Becky. Grandchildren; Jade Suson , Josh Suson and his wife Addison Sarah Dunn & her husband Tyler, Aaron Suson, Kirsten Mathes & her husband James, Levi Claiborne & his wife Melinda Claiborne, Cortney Janz & her husband Chris, Derek Suson & his wife Vanessa Suson, Blake Dismuke & his wife Tessa and Hanna Snyder & her husband Cole. Great-grandchildren; Eric Suson, Eve, Charolette, Teddy Suson, Gabe, Mason, Izzy & Maddox Dunn, Olivia, Paislee, Marshal Suson, Ryder Claiborne, Nikki, Dylan Janz, Taylor Jones and Baby Dismuke.
James was preceded death by his parents, James M. & Ella Mae Suson, a sister; Elea Suson Elkins, daughter; Susan Elizabeth Dismuke.
Pallbearers will be family and friends.
Military Honors will be provided by Stephens County Honor Guard.
