Dud Edward Yount

     Dud Edward Yount, 87, of Duncan, Oklahoma, passed away August 29, 2023 at Duncan Regional Hospital.

     Graveside funeral services will be at 10:00 a.m. Friday, September 1, 2023 the Duncan Cemetery. Arrangements have been entrusted to the family care of Carter-Smart Funeral Directors.

     Dud was born March 17, 1936 in Oklahoma City, Oklahoma to Cecil Vernon & Fern Yount, he lived most of his life in Duncan and attended Duncan Public Schools and graduated from Duncan High School in 1954/1955. He married his high school sweetheart Earline Eaton on July 6, 1955 at Immanuel Baptist Church in Duncan. From this marriage a daughter, Cathy Lynn Yount was born. She preceded him in death April 18, 2010 at the age of 52. Cathy married Tim Wilson, and a son was born to them Lance Edward and he gave Earline & Dud two great-grandchildren, Chace Kruz and Natalie Kate.  

     Dud worked for Duncan Equipment of 14 years and Paramore Supply for 13 years retiring in 1995. He had a beautiful voice and used it sing praises to his Lord and Savior.

     Survivors include his wife of 65 years; Earline of the home, a grandson; Lance Edward Wilson, great-grandson; Chace Kruz, great-great granddaughter; Natalie Kate, a sister-in-law; Linda Pollock Spivey, nephew; Billy Craig Pollock & niece; Keri Bradley, brothers; Bennie Yount, and D.C. Yount, and many special cousins.

     He was preceded in death by his daughter; Cathy Lynn, brother-in-law, Bill Pollock, and Jerry Spivey and Vernon Yount, his parents; Cecil & Fern Yount.
