Calvin Cleo Sims

Calvin Cleo Sims 100, of Duncan, Oklahoma passed away Tuesday, May 25, 2021 at Elk Crossing Nursing Home & Rehab.

Funeral services will be 10:00 a.m. Saturday, May 29, 2021 at Chisholm Trail Church of Christ, with Leonard Keele officiatng, interment will follow at the Duncan Cemetery, and arrangments have been entrusted to the family care of Carter-Smart Funeral Directors.

The family will recieve friends Friday evening from 6:00-7:30 p.m. at the Carter-Smart Funeral Home.

Calvin was born April 17, 1921 in east Stephens County near Velma, Oklahoma to William (Bill) and Willie (Crews) Sims. He graduated from Duncan High School in 1939. Calvin was a veteran of World War ll serving in the United States Army, and he was a member of the American Legion and the Chisholm Trail Church of Christ. Calvin went to work for Skelly Oil Company in 1951, and  moved to Tulsa in 1968 and he was working for Getty Oil Company when he retired in 1983 and moved back to Duncan. Cleo married Billie Jean (Shelton) July 19,1946 in Duncan and to this union were born two sons; Terry Wayne and Randal Lee.

Survivors include his wife; Billie Jean of the home; a son; Randy Lee Sims & his wife Linda of Duncan, Oklahoma, a daughter-in-law; Cheryl Sims of Duncan, Oklahoma, grandchildren; Donald Sims & his wife Bobbie, Teresa Sims Acosta & her husband Ernie, Michelle Lohan & her husband Tim, T.J. Ausmus & wife Amber, Crystal Sims, Adam Sims & his wife Dani, and 16 great-grandchildren 

He was preceded in death by a son; Terry Sims, his parents; William (Bill) & Willie (Crews) Sims and a brother; Billy Ray Sims.
