IN LOVING MEMORY OF
Vernon Clarence
Bohannan
September 28, 1947 – June 21, 2024
Vernon Clarence Bohannan (Bo) went to be with the Lord on June 21st, 2024. He was born in Walters, Oklahoma on September 28th. 1947 to the late Vernon and Pauline Bohannan. He attended New Mexico School for the Deaf in Albuquerque, New Mexico and Oklahoma School for the Deaf in Sulphur, Oklahoma.
Clarence was a fun loving, energetic, and light-hearted guy, he enjoyed joking with everyone and he always had a friendly smile on his face. He loved riding motorcycles, drag racing, and attending classic car shows. His biggest passion in life was his love for our Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ, his family, friends, and his salvage yard.
After working several different jobs building houses, painting trailers at Sooner Trailers, and a few other places, Clarence pursued his passion for cars and started his own business in the late 1970's, called Bo's Salvage. You could find him driving around town in his old 70's Ford wrecker, looking for junk vehicles to purchase. He worked hard and enjoyed every minute of hustle to do what he loved. Even after 47 years of business, he would still get excited when someone would call to sell a junk vehicle.
You could always find Clarence hanging out in a few of his favorite places, such as Tim's Place for breakfast and lunch; he would be in the parking lot every morning waiting for Tim's Place to open at 6:00 a.m., and he never missed catfish Friday's. Every Wednesday and Sunday he'd be at Freedom Biker Church; he rarely missed being in church and truly enjoyed meeting up with his church family to socialize and do his special handshake with friends. Monday through Saturday, you'd find him hustling at his salvage yard, and after work, he would stop by to visit his fellow hot-rod loving friends. Too many friends to list, but a warm and caring thank you to all of them whom he loved spending time within the local community. You all made a huge difference in his life and helped him so many ways. He had a special place for all of you in his heart.
Clarence is preceded in death by his loving mother; Pauline "Polly" Bohannan and father; Vernon Bohannan.
He is survived by his loving sister; Debbie Kay Barr and her husband Greg of Gunbarrel City, Texas, and mother of his children, Gracie Bohannan; sons; Vernon Charles Bohannan and Clinten Lee Bohannan, daughter; Katrina Kay Saxton and her husband Ted of Oklahoma City, Oklahoma, niece; Diana and her children; Breeana and Savanna, seven grandchildren; Murray, Derek, Desiree, Raquel, Clinten, Bobby and Gabrielle, four great-grandchildren; Kylar, Kamdyn, Sereneti, and Siaani, and other family members.
