Tonie Wade Sr. of Comanche, Oklahoma passed away Wednesday, May 8, 2024 at Oklahoma Lawton Ft. Sill Veterans Center in Lawton, Oklahoma at the age of 97 years, 5 months, 20 days.

Funeral services will be 1:00 p.m. Monday, May 13, 2024 at the First Baptist Church in Comanche, Oklahoma with Dr. Mark Hall and assisted by Rev. Gene Vernon officiating, interment will follow at the Duncan Cemetery. Arrangements have been entrusted to the family care of Carter-Smart Funeral Directors.

Tonie was born November 18, 1926 in Bray, Oklahoma to Thomas & Myrtle Wade he was a member of the Choctaw  Nation and  was a veteran of W.W. II serving in the United States Army in the Asiatic-Pacific Campaign and was discharged March 8, 1945. He worked as Oil Pumper until his retirement, he was a member of the Duncan VFW.

Tonie is survived by his children; Janice Branum & her husband Donald of Duncan, Oklahoma, Marjie Wade of Comanche, Oklahoma, Gayla Bynum & her husband Bobby of New Castle, Oklahoma, 9 grandchildren, 23 great grandchildren and 8 great-great grandchildren.

Tonie was preceded in death by his wife Gladys, his son; Tonie Wade Jr. and a daughter; Sandra Anthony, his parents, 3 brothers and 4 sisters.

Pallbearers will be Pacer Branum, Brandan Branum, Tate Sullivent, Steffan Bynum, Todd Anthony and Landon Branum.
