Russel “Rusty” Sites departed this world Monday, July 20, 2026.
Rusty was born to Harry and Peggy Sites in Chickasha, Oklahoma, on November 21, 1962. He graduated from Cement High School in 1981. For much of his adult life, Rusty worked for Union Pacific as a train conductor. Rusty will be remembered for his bear hugs, full belly laughs, and ability to make anyone feel loved. Friends and family will cherish memories spent around a good meal, talking about conspiracy theories, and listening to his wild stories.
He was preceded in death by his paternal grandparents Omer and Octa Sites, his maternal grandparents Ernest and Lois Pooler, his parents Harry and Peggy Sites, his brother-in-law Rex Goldsmith, as well as an infant brother and Micah Smart, an infant grandson.
Rusty is survived by his wife Jennifer Sites of the home; sister Desi Goldsmith of Cement; sister Tonya and James Williams and their son Josh; son Joshua Frazier and his children Presley, Roxley, and Rauley of Cement; daughter Jessica and Daniel Smart and their children Jonathan, David, and Jude of Cement, and Braxton Munn of Norman; daughter Taylor Sites of Alex; son Jesse Sites of Alex; daughter Jordan and Ino Mejia and their children Julien, Maddox, and Mariela of Chickasha; grandson Ryder Choat; grandson Ryan and wife Marti and their children Beckett and Stella; grandson Hunter Taylor and Nollen and their children Rowdy and Hudson.
Rusty met the love of his life Jennifer in October 2005. They were married May 12, 2008. They faithfully attended and served at First Baptist Church of Cement. He volunteered as an adult leader at many youth activities including Falls Creek.
Rusty’s celebration of life will be Tuesday, July 28, at 3 pm in Cement at First Baptist Church. Viewings will be Monday from 5-7 pm and Tuesday 11 am-1 pm at First Baptist Church. There will be no graveside service. The church is located 106 N Main Street.
Memorial donations may be made to First Baptist Church of Cement or the American Cancer Society. Rusty’s warmth, faith, and love for his family will be deeply missed by all who knew him. Online condolences can be made at www.cartersmartfuneralhome.com.
