Richard Stewart, 86, of Duncan, Oklahoma, passed away Monday, January 26, 2026, at his home in Duncan, Oklahoma. Services will be held at 11:30 a.m. on Monday, February 2, 2026, in the chapel at Carter-Smart Funeral Home, with Pastor Elwyn Rogers officiating, and arrangements have been entrusted to the family care of Carter-Smart Funeral Directors. The family will receive visitors on Sunday, February 1, 2026, from 5-6 p.m. at Carter-Smart Funeral Home. Richard was born August 31, 1939, in Duncan, Oklahoma to Alvin and Nola (Johnson) Stewart. He was a graduate of Empire High School and was a loving husband, father, grandfather, and great-grandfather. Richard married Stella Punneo on March 24, 1958, in Waurika, Oklahoma and together they raised Rick, Don, & Tom (Talley) Stewart.

Richard loved to do yardwork. He worked as a plumber for many years and owned a business with his brother-in-law, Buster. Toward the end of his career, he was a union pipefitter. He was also devoted to the Lord and read his Bible every night. Survivors include his sons; Don Stewart and Rick Stewart; grandchildren; Josh Stewart, Amanda and Rikki Jade. Richard was preceded in death by his wife, Stella; son Tom; a grandson, Zac; and his five siblings.
