Phyllis Brown
Phyllis Brown 66, of Duncan, Oklahoma, passed away Saturday, September 28, 2019 at Wilkins Nursing Center with her family by her side.
Funeral services will be 11:00 a.m. Wednesday, October 2, 2019 at the Bethesda Church of God, with Rev. Harold Metheny officiating, interment will follow at the Duncan Cemetery, and arrangements have been entrusted to the family care of Carter-Smart Funeral Directors.
Family visitation will be Tuesday evening at the Carter-Smart Funeral Home from 6:00-8:00 p.m.
Phyllis was born March 29, 1953 in Andrews, Texas to Cecil H. and Lela Mae (Allen) Vest she was a retired cook and a homemaker, she was a loving wife, mother, grandmother and great-grandmother, Phyllis was married to Kenneth Brown on March 9, 1972 in Lubbock, Texas and to this marriage were born 5 sons; Paul, Kenneth Lee, Bobby, Terrance and Shane and 3 daughters; Tammy, Shonna and Sylvia, she was a active member at Bethesda Church of God , singing and playing the organ and the piano at church, she was a selfless woman and never met a stranger, Kenneth was the love of her life, and always said that she kept me going, when I wanted to give up.
Phyllis is survived by her husband; Kenneth of the home, sons; Paul Brown & his wife Stacy of Duncan, Oklahoma, Kenneth Lee Brown & his wife Sue Jean of Midland, Texas, Bobby Brown & his wife Donna of Sulphur, Oklahoma, Terrance Brown of California, and Shane Brown of Wisconsin, daughters; Tammy Chance & her husband James of Clyde, Texas, Shonna Hatfield & her husband Larry of Bethany, Oklahoma, and Sylvia Branch & her husband Johnnie of Comanche, Oklahoma, grandchildren; Lela Brown, Dakota Kaus, Chad Chance, Allyssa Campbell, Cameron Brown, Summer Hatfield, Autumn Hatfield, Amanda Brown, Elvis Poe, Derrick Weatherly, Peggy Weatherly, Brody Brown and Cody Brown, great-grandchildren; Tarrence Jones, Trenton Jones and Emersyn (Eme) Kaus will be born in October.
Pallbearers will be Charlie Vest, Chad Chance, Larry Haitfield, Kenneth Lee Brown, Elvis Poe and Josh Lawson and honorary pallbearers will be Steve Brown and Jerrod Smith.
Our family would like to give a special thank you to the Comforting Hands Hospice team, especially to Katie R.N. for the great care provided to our mother.
