Peggy O'Conner Newman

Peggy O'Conner Newman, 81 of Duncan, Oklahoma, passed away Monday, March 1, 2021 in Duncan after battling a long illness.

Peggy was born August 22, 1939 in El Reno, Oklahoma to Mary Lee and Hugh O'Conner, the family moved to Duncan shortly thereafter. She grew up and attended school in Duncan. She worked fro Halliburton Services, first as a draftsman, the in video production. In 1977, she moved to Houston to work with Wellex; later, she moved to Tulsa where she was employed by Baker-Hughes until her retirement. She later moved back to Duncan to be close to family and friends. She attended the First United Methodist Church, where she sang in the choir.

Peggy is survived by a daughter and son-in-law; Heather and Jeff Hall of Waurika, Oklahoma, grandaughters; Erin Hall Abbott and husband Josh of Midwest City, Oklahoma, and Lauren Hall of Oklahoma City, Oklahoma, her son and daughter-in-law; Jerry Don Newman ll and wife Judy, of Duncan, Oklahoma, grandchildren; Kristi Newman of Duncan, Oklahoma, J.D. Newman of Duncan, Oklahoma, Kara Newman of Marlow, Oklahoma, two great-great granddaughters; Addison and Alanya and sister-in-law; Mary O'Conner of Duncan, Oklahoma, and two nephews; Jack O'Conner and his wife Janna of Edmond, Oklahoma and Brant O'Conner and his wife Dea of Andrews, Texas, and great-nieces and nephews; Clara, Tess, Addison, and Ella, all of Edmond, Oklahoma, and Caleb, Matthew, Bethany, Lindsey and Kyra, all of Texas.

Peggy was preceded in death by her parents; a brother, Michael O'Conner

The family would like to extend their gratitude for the loving care Peggy received from the staff at Country Club Care.

Arrangements have been entrusted to the family care of Carter-Smart Funeral Directors.
