Patty Redding Goodman

Patty was born in Milo, Oklahoma, June 17, 1930, along with her identical twin Peggy, to Ira and Olga Caldwell Redding.  Patty passed from this life and into eternal life on April 17, 2025, aged 94 years, 10 months.

Patty was raised in Milo on the family farm with her eight sisters and one brother.  She attended Woodford schools for eight years and then Graham High School.

She was married to Roy Edsel Goodman on June 8, 1947, in Duncan, Oklahoma, where they made their home.  Their first born, Roy Edsel Goodman, Jr. (Eddie) was born there and then the family returned to Milo where Elaine, Leroy, Mark and Matt were born.  The family moved to Graham, Oklahoma, in 1967 and back to Duncan in 1970.

Patty was a devoted wife and mother to the five children.  She enjoyed her family and playing dominos or bowling during her leisure time.  She was a member of the Baptist churches at Milo, Graham, and Trinity Baptist in Duncan, serving the Lord for 50 plus years.

She is survived by her brother Duane Redding; her daughter Elaine and husband Kenneth Glenn, sons Leroy Goodman and wife Gayla, Mark Goodman and wife Cheri; daughters in law July Biggs and husband Gerald, and Debbie Goodman; grandsons Brett Goodman and Jerry Biggs, granddaughters Ashley Hays and husband Billy, Amberly Durfield and husband Timothy, Allison Goodman, and Adrianne Park; great grandson Judah Park, great granddaughters Patricia Goodman, Sierra Smith and husband Isaiah, Bennett Park and Marigold Park;  great-great grandson Daxtyn Smith, and many nieces and nephews.

Patty was preceded in death by her husband Edsel in 1981, son Eddie in 1974, son Matt in 2024, and eight sisters, Monnie, Ethel, Eloyce, Reba, Phyllis, Laverne, Bettye, twin Peggy, and an infant brother.

Patty and her family want to thank the staff of Elk Crossing Nursing for their compassionate care over the past four years.

Services are scheduled at 10:00 a.m., Tuesday, April 22, 2025, at Carter-Smart Funeral Home Chapel located at 1316 W Oak in Duncan, Oklahoma, followed by the graveside service at the Milo Cemetery.

Pallbearers will be Lester Cox, Wayne Cox, Johnny Davis, Mark Goodman, Billy Hays and Harrell Kennedy. Honorary Pallbearers will be Duane Redding, Kenneth Glenn and Matt Goodman.
