Obituary

Michael Edward Brown, affectionately known as "Downtown Mikey Brown," passed away on October 8, 2025, at the age of 60. Born on September 6, 1965, Michael was a beloved son, father, brother, and friend whose warmth and personality touched many lives.

He was preceded in death by his father, Noal W. Brown, and is survived by his loving mother, Patricia Brown; his children, Chase Edward Brown and Trinity Cameo Brown; his brother, Steven Murphy; and a large extended family of aunts, uncles, cousins, nieces, nephews, and many dear friends.

Michael spent much of his career managing restaurants in Knoxville, TN, including Applebee's and Red Lobster, where his friendly nature made a lasting impression on coworkers and patrons alike. A gifted and passionate musician, he was a longtime performer at Veterans and Biker churches, sharing his music and spirit with the communities he loved.

Pallbearers will be Walter Long, Brian Bruns, Jim Peters, Charlie White, Bruce Weir, and Jim Bo Price. Honorary pallbearers are Fred Tovar and Heath Long.

Michael's care has been entrusted to Carter-Smart Funeral Home. The family will receive visitors on Monday, October 13, 2025, from 6-8 pm. Services will be held at Recovery Church on Tuesday, October 14, 2025 at 2:00 pm with burial following at the Walters Cemetery in Walters, OK.

Michael will be remembered for his kindness, his sense of humor, and the joy he brought to every room he entered.
