Margaret "Margo" Morales

Margaret "Margo" Morales, a kind and loving soul, passed from this life on Sunday, November 2, 2025.

Margo was born in Frederick, OK to Oscar and Odelia Cordova Morales on March 25, 1963.

Margo faced many struggles, but with love, determination, and support she was an overcomer. She lived with her sister, Ali, for a time. While with her, Ali signed Margo up with the Duncan Area Literacy Council in 2016 on her 53rd birthday. It was here that her light truly began to shine.

Margo learned to read many new books and even became an author herself, contributing to Celebrating Our Journey: A Collection of Life Stories, Volume 11 and 12. In addition to books, Margo also loved crafting and art. She was a participant in the Heritage Center's art classes and loved making bracelets. Margo also worked at the Senior Citizens Center assisting with clean up after lunch, but her favorite day was "Reading Class Day."

After her sister's passing, Margo was brought into the loving home of Gwen, a friend from the Lighthouse Church, who cared for her as her own.

Margo was predeceased by her parents and two sisters. She is survived by her brothers Robert Whetstone and wife Susan; Mike Whetstone and wife Shirley; Oscar Morales; Jerry Morales and wife Iris; Israel Morale; sisters Gwen Housman; Beverly Mitchell; Diann Jones and husband Phillip; and Pat French.

Margo's care has been entrusted to the family care at Carter-Smart Funeral Directors. Her loved ones will receive visitors on Saturday, November 8, 2025 from 5-7 pm at the funeral home.

Though Margo is no longer with us in body, the mark she left on so many will never be forgotten as her light continues to brighten the world.
