Mahatta Jo Flinn-Marsh

Mahatta Jo Flinn-Marsh 87 of Marlow, Oklahoma, passed away Wednesday, August 29, 2018 at Westwind Assisted Living with her family at her side.

Funeral services will be 10:00 a.m. Tuesday, September 4, 2018 in the Chapel at the First Baptist Church in Marlow, Oklahoma, with Rev. Joe Ligon officiating, interment will follow at the Marlow Cemetery, and arrangements have been entrusted to the family care of Carter-Smart Funeral Directors.

Family visitation will be Monday, September 3, 2018 from 6:00-7:30 p.m. at the Carter-Smart Funeral Home.

Mahatta was born August 31, 1930 in Ardmore, Oklahoma, to Paschall David & Jessie Lee (McBride) Richey, and was a lifetime  resident of the Marlow area, she retired from Halliburton Services on August 31, 1980 and was the owner of Flinn Furniture Company with her husband Dorman before his death, Mahatta was a member of the First Baptist Church in Marlow for 70 years. Mahatta Richey married Dorman Flinn June 11, 1949 and he preceded her in death and she later married Don Marsh who also preceded her in death. She was a member of the Duncan Hospital Auxiliary, The Daughters of the American Revolution, Daughters of American Colonists, the Bray-Doyle Scholarship Committee and the Elizabethan  Book Review Club in Marlow and Duncan. She was a loving mother, sister, grandmother and great grandmother.

Mahatta is survived by her daughter; Bridgett Ann (Flinn) Garrett and her husband Bill of Marlow, Oklahoma, a sister; Jeanne (Richey) Becker and her husband Loren of Duncan, Oklahoma, grandchildren; Casey Anderson and her husband Lane and Clint Garrett and his wife Kacy, great-grandchildren; Jack Garrett, Miles Garrett, Jonathon Anderson, Jonathan Shufeldt, Emily Anderson and Luke Anderson.

She was preceded in death by her husbands; Dorman Flinn and Don Marsh, brother; David McBride Richey and Gordon McBride and a sister; LaRetha Beth (Richey) Henson.

Pallbearers will be Tom McBride, J. B. Henson, Terry Garrett, Lance Jones, Randy Elliott and Homer Cobb. Honorary pallbearers will be LaWayne Jones, Loren Becker and Jim Gloriod.
