Karla Byrd

Karla Byrd 63, of Duncan, Oklahoma , passed away Friday afternoon, June 30, 2017 at her home with her family and friends at her side.

Funeral services will be 10:00 a.m. Thursday, July 6, 2017 at Liberty Baptist Church with Rev. Marvin Knox officiating, interment will follow at the Duncan Cemetery, arrangements have been entrusted to the family care of Carter-Smart Funeral Directors.

Family visitation will be Wednesday evening from 5:30-7:30 p.m. at the Carter-Smart Funeral Home.

Karla was born March 7, 1954 in Duncan, Oklahoma to Tom & Ruth (Davis) Bynum, she was raised in Duncan and attended Duncan Schools, she graduated from Duncan High School in 1972. Karla was a homemaker, a member of the Duncan Ambucks and Liberty Baptist Church, she had been a resident of Duncan all her life, she married Tommy Byrd June 16, 1972 in Duncan, Oklahoma, she was a loving wife, mother, and grandmother, and she will be missed by her family and numerous friends.

Karla is survived by her husband; Tom of Duncan, Oklahoma, a son; Justin of Duncan, Oklahoma, a daughter; Kandi Schuler of Ardmore, Oklahoma and a sister; Sandra K. Lord of Duncan, Oklahoma. She is also survived by 6 grandchildren; Alex, Cale, Jackson, Joseph, Ethan and Aaron.

Karla was preceded in death by her son; Jason Byrd in 2016 and her parents; W. T. & Ruth (Davis) Bynum.

Pallbearers will be Sean Hurley, Adam Marks, Jackson Byrd, Cale Hendrix, Joseph Byrd and Ethan Schuler.
