Duncan Municipal Cemetery
Starts at 10:00 am (Central time)
With heavy hearts and fond memories, we celebrate the life of Kailey Rene, who graced this world from November 8, 1992, until May 23, 2026. Kailey passed away peacefully in her sleep at her home, leaving behind a legacy of love, compassion, and unyielding kindness.
Born to Brian Copeland and Linda Moses, Kailey was a beacon of light and love to all who knew her. She was predeceased by her beloved sister Tyler Nicole Reese and her biological father, John Charles Barrilleaux. Yet, her spirit continues to thrive in the hearts of her surviving family members: her devoted husband, Travis Steel, their three cherished children, Mason, Faith, and Temperance, her brother Michael and his wife Breanna, along with their five children, her sister Ashley and her husband Elvis, and their three children. Kailey is also survived by her loving mother Linda, her father Brian, and his wife Kathy.
Kailey's love story with Travis Steel began with them dating in September 2019 and then they were married on September 13, 2022, with many wondrous years filled with love, laughter, and shared dreams. Together, they built a nurturing and joyful life, raising three beautiful children and creating a home where warmth and happiness flourished. Kailey was not only an extraordinary wife and mother but also an amazing aunt, whose affection and joy enriched the lives of all her nieces and nephews.
A dedicated professional, Kailey worked tirelessly at Checker Wrecker for eight years, balancing her roles as an overnight dispatcher and the car lot manager during the day. Her colleagues and clients were touched by her professionalism and her innate ability to make everyone feel valued and heard.
Kailey possessed an extraordinary ability to listen without judgment, offering comfort and wisdom to those around her. She carried a quiet strength, meeting life's challenges with grace, resilience, and an unshakable sense of hope. Her laughter could light up any room, and her kindness knew no boundaries. She had a unique gift for making everyone feel seen and valued, a testament to her compassionate nature.
In the words of her family: "We will remember Kailey not for the way she left us, but for the countless ways she made life more beautiful. Her story will live on in every act of kindness we share."
As we gather to celebrate Kailey's life, we hold onto the precious memories she created with us. We find solace in knowing that her spirit lives on in the acts of kindness and love that she inspired in us all. May her memory be a guiding light, reminding us to live with the same grace, hope, and compassion she embodied every day of her life.
Kailey Rene will be deeply missed, but her legacy of love and kindness will forever remain in our hearts.
Kailey has been entrusted to the care of Carter-Smart Funeral Directors. A celebration of her life will be held on Saturday, June 6, 2026, at 10:00 am at the Duncan Municipal Cemetery.
