Joan Boyles, born to John and Naomi Scott on July 30, 1941, passed away on November 8, 2025.

As a child, Joan was a talented dancer, and that talent never faded. She especially enjoyed dancing with the man she would eventually marry, Robert "Sammy" Boyles.  Their love would bring three beautiful daughters into the world, Kelly, Kim, and Kerry.

Joan spent much of her time as a homemaker, but also worked at Woolworth – work that she was particularly proud of. She also drove a bus and worked in the cafeteria for the school. But Joan's greatest joy outside of family were plants, cats, and dogs. She was an avid member of the Water Garden Club for many years.

Joan is preceded in death by her husband Sammy Boyles; brother, Ronnie Scott; sister, Carol Hartline; and great-grandson, Jack. She is survived by her daughters Kelly Johnson and husband Jay; Kim Collier and husband Karl; and Kerry Price; six grandchildren; thirteen great-grandchildren; and many nieces, nephews and friends.

Joan's care has been entrusted to Carter-Smart Funeral Directors. A graveside service will be held at the Marlow Cemetery on Wednesday, November 12, 2025, at 12:00 pm. In lieu of flowers, the family asks that a donation be made to the Stephens County Humane Society in Joan's name.
