Jo Ann Burden, 82 of Duncan, Oklahoma passed away Monday, October 28, 2024 at Duncan Regional Hospital.

Funeral service will be 11:00 a.m. Monday, November 4, 2024 at the Carter-Smart Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. Lonnie Webb officiating, interment will follow at the Duncan Cemetery, arrangements have been entrusted to the family care of Carter-Smart Funeral Directors.

Family visitation will be from 4:00-6:00 p.m. Sunday, November 3, 2024 at the Carter-Smart Funeral Home.

Jo Ann was born September 30, 1942, in Duncan, Oklahoma to W. H. & Mildred (Punneo) Howard, she worked as a sales associate for Gibson's and Love's until her retirement, she married Elmo Burden January 4, 1960 in Duncan, Oklahoma and to this union were born two daughters; Karen & Angela, and Elmo preceded Jo Ann in death on October 26, 2006.

Jo Ann is survived by her daughter; Karen Ballard of Duncan, Oklahoma, sisters; Helen Byrom Belcher of Winters, Texas, Betty Howard of Colorado, Kathy Graves of California, Jackie Williams of Ringling, Oklahoma, a brother; Dale Byrom of Lapan, Texas and 5 grandchildren; Krystal Murphy, Michael Hobein, Justin Holbein, Roberta Ballard and Ryan Burden and 11 great grandchildren and a very special friend Nancy Jones.

Jo Ann was preceded in death by her husband; Elmo Burden, daughter, Angela Burden, brother; Gail Byrom, sisters; Carla Walker, Jennette White, Lavern Whitlock, a great-grandchild; Natalie Holbein.

Pallbearers will be Ryan Burden, Michael Holbein, Justin Holbein, Matt Young, Jimmy Peters and Derrick Thomas.
