James Wayne Lewis of Duncan, Oklahoma, passed away Wednesday, July 17, 2024 at O.U. Medical Center in Oklahoma City, Oklahoma at the age of 70 years, 5 months and 25 days.

Funeral services will be 11:00 a.m. Monday, July 22, 2024 at the Carter-Smart Funeral Home Chapel with Mark Hall officiating, interment will follow at the Duncan Cemetery. Arrangements have been entrusted to the family care of Carter-Smart Funeral Directors.

Family visitation will be Sunday evening July 21, 2024 at the Carter-Smart Funeral Home from 5:00 – 6:00 p.m.

James was born on Saturday, January 23, 1954 in Duncan, Oklahoma to Marshal H. & Wilma Pearl (Kindred) Lewis, James attended Duncan Public Schools and was a graduate of Duncan High School in 1972. He worked for Firestone Tire Company until his retirement.

He is survived by his children; daughter; Natalie Susanne Samuels of Duncan, Oklahoma, sons; Allen Wayne Lewis of Duncan, Oklahoma and John Tocas Lewis of Oklahoma City, Oklahoma, and the love of his life;  Rose Ellen Lewis of Duncan, Oklahoma, 10 grandchildren; Rachel Lewis, Megan Lewis, Sydney Lewis, Ian Lewis, Mikah Lewis, Connor Holt, Madyson Holt, Rylen Samuels, Cayden Lewis and Zaider Lewis and 7 great-grandchildren.

Pallbearers will be Conner Holt, Rylen Samuels, Parker Jordan, Jake Samuels, Danny Seymore, Madison Holt and Ian Lewis.
