James "Bill" Beene
James William "Bill" Beene 97, of Duncan, Oklahoma, passed away January 6, 2025 in Lawton, Oklahoma.
Graveside funeral services will be 1:00 p.m. Friday, January 10, 2025 at the Duncan Cemetery with Ron Stough officiating. Arrangements have been entrusted to the family care of Carter-Smart Funeral Directors.
Bill was born March 26, 1927 in Hastings, Oklahoma to James Monroe & Eva Mae "Durrett" Beene, Bill was a graduate of Comanche High School and was a veteran of the United States Army serving in Japan during World War II and was honorable discharged, he later was the owner of Bill Beene Ford dealership in Comanche, Oklahoma and worked at Ace Hardware in Duncan until his retirement, he was also a member of Eastside Church of Christ. Bill and Bernice "Smith" were married September 30, 1950 in Waurika, Oklahoma and to this union were born 2 son's Jimmy and Rusty, Bernice preceded Bill in death on May 26, 2019.
He is survived by his two son's; Jimmy Beene of Comanche, Oklahoma and Rusty Beene of Seminole, Oklahoma and 4 grandchildren; Brandon & Sara Beene, Blaine & Labeth Beene, Cassie Beene & Lindsey Hughey and Callie & Cade Thronebury, and 9 great-grandchildren.
Bill was preceded in death by his wife Bernice, parents James & Eva Mae Beene, a sister; Jessie Mae Welch and daughter-in-laws; Debra Ann Beene and Paula Kaye Beene.
