Obituary

Jacklyn "Jackie" Cagle, 86, of Duncan, Oklahoma, passed away Wednesday, June 22, 2022 at Country Club Care Nursing Center.

Funeral services will be 10:00 a.m.Wednesday, June 29, 2022 at the First Baptist Church with Dr. Bryan Pain officiating, interment will follow at the Resthaven Memorial Gardens. Arrangements have been entrusted to the family care of Carter-Smart Funeral Directors.

Jackie was born July 15, 1935 in Duncan, Oklahoma to Jack & Elna (Bayless) Sampson. Jackie attended Duncan Public School and graduated from Duncan High School, she was a home maker and was married November 25, 1954 in Duncan to E.R. Cagle Jr. and to this marriage was born 3 children: Craig, Kent and Rene', E.R. preceded her in death on March 6, 2017, Jackie & E.R. Cagle were married for 62+ years in 2017, they met at Oklahoma Baptist University, She served by his side in the ministry for over 60 years, and served churches and Associations in Oklahoma, Texas, Illinois and Colorado. She was faithful in giving to mission causes, they moved back to Oklahoma in 1996, Jackie was also a member of the First Baptist Church in Duncan.

Her great-great grandfather James Patrick Sampson founded the Duncan Banner and was the first Fire Chief in Duncan. She loved reading and crocheting untill she lost her eyesight, she loved to travel and she and E.R. traveled all over the country, she loved to cook for parties and open houses and went all out for the hollidays. For 15 summers she cooked for the 3 Rivers Baptist Youth Camp. She loved her family, especially little children and giving gifts. For many years she was the State Director for PreSchool Ministries for the Illinois Baptist Association and she enjoyed eating out with family and friends and have come as you are parties for family and friends.

Jackie is survived by her sons; Craig Cagle of Palacios, Texas and Kent Cagle of Denver, Colorado and daughter; Rene' Vasquez of Duncan, Oklahoma, step-sisters; Ann & Ed Kimbrough of Ft. Worth, Texas, and Dottie & Clinton Whitehead of Duncan, Oklahoma and 5 grandchildren and 6 great-grandchildren.

Pallbearers will be Scot Sampson, Josh Cagle, Kiby Cagle, Cody Cagle, Cody Trolinger and Jay Sampson.
