J.N. Bishop 92, of Duncan, Oklahoma, passed away Friday, June 10, 2022 at Elk Crossing Nursing Center.

Funeral services will be 10:00 a.m. Tuesday, June 14, 2022 at the Carter-Smart Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. Ray Strauss officiating, interment will follow at the Duncan Cemetery. Arrangements have been entrusted to the family care of Carter-Smart Funeral Directors.

Family visitation will be Monday evening at the Carter-Smart Funeral Home from 5:00-7:00 p.m.

J.N. was born November 28, 1929 in Direct, Texas to William Hanson & Sara Elizabeth (Francis) Bishop, J.N was a veteran of the United States Airforce enstlisting December 22, 1950 and was discharged September 11, 1951, he worked at Halliburton Services in the Sheet Metal Department and Inspection until his retirement. J.N. moved to Duncan from Antlers and had been a resident of Duncan for over 71 years, he married Eloise Irene (Walls) on October 18, 1951 in Duncan, and to this union were born two children Jimmy and Barbara. Eloise precededed J.N. in death November 15, 2012.

J.N. is survived by his son: Jimmy & Donna Bishop of Duncan, Oklahoma and a daughter; Barbara & Ed Waters of Duncan, Oklahoma. grandchildren, Bryan Nalley & his wife Cathie, Clay Nalley, Christina Strauss & her husband Ray, Michael Bishop & his wife Melissa, great-grandchildren, Brandin Nalley, Tyler Nalley, Blake Nalley, Joiellen Rogers, Timothy Rogers, Carson Nalley, Carleigh Nalley, Joshua Strauss, Caleb Strauss, Sam Strauss, Maegan Bishop and Molly Bishop

Pallbearers will be Grandchildren and Great-Grandchildren. Honorary Pallbearers Dickie Fennel, Johnny Bradbury, Staff of Chisolm Trail Hospice.

Military honors will be provided by Stephens County Honor Guard.

J.N. was preceded in death by his wife, Eloise, his parents; William Hanson & Sara Elizabeth Bishop, brothers; Ruben, Henry, Van and Herman Bishop, his sisters; Liddy & Zona.
