Homer "Harold" Dunn

Homer "Harold" Dunn passed away peacefully the morning of March 23, 2019 at Duncan Regional Hospital in Duncan, Oklahoma at the age of 85.

Harold was born on August 31,1933 in Olustee, Oklahoma to Roscoe & Esther Dunn, however, he was raised and adopted by his maternal aunt and uncle Herman and Ruth Paddock, due to the death of his mother around the age of 2 years old. In his late teens, early 20's Harold found himself in Comanche, Oklahoma where he met his loving wife Alta Ruth Bridgers. They exchanged their vows on March 27, 1954 and were nearing their 65t. anniversary. They decided to settle and reside in Comanche, Oklahoma making it their home for about the last 55 years. Together they have raised 6 children, Harold "Wayne" Dunn ( deceased February of 2008), Sharon and husband Steve Sanders of Duncan, Oklahoma, Karon and husband Bobby Scott of Wichita Falls, Texas, Fonda and husband Eddy Montgomery of Marlow, Oklahoma, Shane Dunn of Myerstown, Pennsylvania, and Heath and wife Rosalie Dunn of Sherman, Texas. They also have 15 grandchildren and 12 great-grandchildren.

Harold spent many hours on the road driving a semi truck for close to 30 years, which allowed him to see the majority of the United States. While at home he spent time with his wife, and Kids. Some of Harold's interest where watching westerns, storytelling with family, later in life watching football.

Graveside services will be held on Thursday, March 28, 2019 at 2:00 p.m. at the Ryan Cemetery in Ryan, Oklahoma, with son-in-law Pastor Bobby Scott, officiating. A dinner will be provided by the Bridgers family before the service at 11:00 a.m. at the Corum Assembly of God Church in Corum, Oklahoma.

Serving as pallbearers are Scott Gillam, Eric Smith, Brent Scott, Kyle Wheeler, Travis Lanham and Aaron Sanders.

Arrangements have been entrusted to the family care of Carter-Smart Funeral Directors.
