Obituary

Gerald Ray Wampler 87, of Comanche, Oklahoma passed away Thursday, October 7, 2016 at Duncan Regional Hospital, with his family by his side.

Graveside services will be 1:00 p.m. Monday, October 10, 2016 at Resthaven Memorial Gardens with Chaplain Tommy Howell officiating and arrangements have been entrusted to the family care of Carter-Smart Funeral Home.

Gerald was born January 15, 1929 in Walters, Oklahoma to Ray Lloyd & Pearl Mae "Rupe" Wampler, he worked as a heavy equipment operator before his retirement, and was a member of the S.W. Bee Keepers and the Open Range Cowboy Church, he was a veteran of the United States Army serving during the Korean War. Gerald married Christene Mathes September 10, 1952 in Wichita Falls, Texas.

He is survived by his wife Christene of the home, daughters; Linda Stilwell of Duncan, Oklahoma and Shirley Watkins and her husband Keith of Duncan, Oklahoma, a brother; Wayne  Wampler & his wife Yvonne of Moore, Oklahoma and a sister; Sharon Presgrove and her husband Larry of Duncan, Oklahoma.

He was preceded in death by his parents; Ray Lloyd & Pearl Mae Wampler, a brother Leon Wampler and a sister Ruth Irvin.

Pallbearers will be members of the Patriot Guard. Military Honors will be provided by the Stephens County Honor Guard.
