Ernest Darrell Meadows, 75, passed away on July 22, 2026. A strong man who always kept his family and friends smiling, he will be greatly missed.

Ernest was born October 23, 1950 to Ernest Sr. and Ellen Meadows in Inglewood, California. Growing up in Southern California, Ernest eventually made his way to Oklahoma, where he would plant his roots.

He married Vonda Casteel on August 13, 1971. Together, they raised their loving daughter and sons, Trinity, Darrell, and Trevor. He was self-employed as a fabricator and welder, making much needed equipment for the oilfield industry.

Ernest enjoyed fishing, hunting, and was known as a jack of all trades, but master of none, and would tell you so himself. What he loved the most, was his family and friends. He was an honest and reliable man with a warm heart and an ornery streak a country mile wide. A true friend and family man to the end.

Ernest was preceded in death by his parents, Ernest Sr. and Ellen; his wife, Vonda Meadows; and son, Darrell Lynn Meadows. He is survived by his daughter, Trinity Luke and husband Daniel; sister, Linda Myers; Grandchildren, Makayla Meadows, Kameron Moody, Kyler and Emily Meadows; and Great-Grandchildren, Everily Meadows, Ash Meadows, Billy Luke III, and Ava Luke.

Pallbearers will be Daniel Luke, Kameron Moody, Kyler Meadows, Billy Luke, Corbin Maddox, and Trevor Meadows. Honorary pallbearers are Bacilio Torres, Jason Nelson, and Dakkota Meadows.

His care has been entrusted to Carter-Smart Funeral Directors. The family will receive visitors on Sunday, July 26, 2026, from 2-4 pm at the Carter-Smart Funeral Home. Graveside services will be held on Monday, July 27, 2026, at 10:00 am at the Rush Springs Cemetery.
