Emmett Taylor, 80, of Duncan passed away in the comforting presence of his family on February 8, 2025 at Duncan Regional Hospital.
He was born May 8, 1944 to John A. Taylor and Nellie (Miller) Taylor in Memphis, Texas. Emmett was in the Marine Corp and is a Vietnam Veteran. He married Shirley Shaddox February 14, 1976. He owned and operated Taylor Excavating in Texas. Upon moving to Duncan, he started a lawn mowing service.
Emmett is survived by his son; David Taylor and his wife Michelle of Garland, Texas, daughter; Kim Vidrine and her husband Jim of Scott, Louisiana. daughter; Stacy Cardenas and husband Ricardo of Hunt, Texas, daughter; Brenda Parks and her husband Ken of Decatur, Texas, daughter; LeAnn Williams of Mustang, Oklahoma, brothers; John Mike Taylor of Midland, Texas, Terry Joe Taylor of Bonham, Texas. sisters; Betty Ann McLoud and her husband Delbert of Borger, Texas, Vonzell Barbour and husband David of Comanche, Oklahoma and nine grandchildren and eleven great-greatgrandchildren.
Visitation will be Thursday, February 13, 2025 at the Carter-Smart Funeral Home. Funeral services will be 2:00 p.m. Friday, February 14, 2025 at the Ray of Hope Church.
Interment services will be 2:00 p.m. Tuesday, February 18, 2025 at the Ft. Sill National Cemetery in Elgin, Oklahoma, arrangements have been entrusted to the family care of Carter-Smart Funeral Directors.
