Elsie Lavon Muchmore, 97, of Duncan, Oklahoma, died Wednesday, December 10, 2025, in Chickasha, Oklahoma.

Graveside funeral services will be held at 11:00am on Tuesday, December 16, 2025, at Fairlawn Cemetery in Chickasha, Oklahoma with the Rev. Randy Southerland officiating. Arrangements have been entrusted to the family care of Carter-Smart Funeral Directors.

Visitation will be held from 6:00 pm to 7:00 pm on Monday, December 15, 2025 at Carter Smart Funeral Home in Duncan, Oklahoma.

Elsie was born August 2, 1928, to John Monroe Parker and Emma Lou Eva Allen Parker in Marietta, Oklahoma.

She graduated from Amber High School in 1947. After graduation she married Carlos V. Muchmore, February 4, 1948. He preceded her in death.

Elsie worked at Strains Bakery in Duncan in the 1960's and later owned Cretia's Cakes until retirement in 1990.

Elsie is survived by two sons, Carlos J. Muchmore, of Oklahoma City; Dennis W. and wife Debra, of Houston, Texas; granddaughter Tara Muchmore, of Oklahoma City; grandson Blake Muchmore, of Oklahoma City; granddaughter Amanda and husband Justin Hurt of Rockwall, Texas; granddaughter Samantha Muchmore of San Antonio, Texas; sister Carolyn Maxine Boerner, of Milton, Pennsylvania; and many loving nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Carlos V. Muchmore on April 1, 2003; and daughter-in-law Rebecca Muchmore on May 24, 2024.

Elsie was a member of New Hope Baptist Church West in Duncan, Oklahoma.
