Carl Merry

Carl Merry 92, of Norman, Oklahoma passed away Thursday, October 26, 2017 at the Norman Veterans Center in Norman, Oklahoma.

Funeral services will be 2:00 p.m. Graveside at Hope Cemetery, Tuesday, October 31, 2017, and arrangements have been entrusted to the family care of Carter-Smart Funeral Directors.

Military Honors will be presented by the Stephens County Honor Guard.

Carl was born March 13, 1925 in Oklahoma City, Oklahoma to Thomas Milton & Clara (Walls) Merry, Carl was a veteran of W.W. ll serving with the U.S. Marine Corp. from 1943 until 1947 in the Pacific area in offensive air action, as an aviation ground crew and participated in the Occupation of Japan from February 1946 to June 1946, he was Honorably discharged from the Marine Corp at Camp Lejeune, N.C. Jan. 24, 1947.  He retired from Jones Drilling as a machinist.

Survivors include a sister-in-law; Juliana Vargas of Shawnee, Oklahoma, nephews; Michael J. Maples Sr., Timothy D. Maples, Zachary J. Vargas all of Choctaw, Oklahoma and Allen Overbey of Awendaw, South Carolina and a niece; Sharon McKinney of Norman, Oklahoma.

Pallbearers will be Family & Friends.
