Carl Lee Cowan 82, of Comanche, Oklahoma, passed away Wednesday, December 18, 2024 in Oklahoma City at O.U. Medical Center.
Funeral services will be 10:30 a.m. Monday, December 23, 2024 at the Freedom Biker Church with Rev. Billy Morgan officiating, interment will follow at the Duncan Cemetery. Arrangements have been entrusted to the family care of Carter-Smart Funeral Director's.
The family will receive friends at the Carter-Smart Funeral Home from 3:00-4:00 p.m., Sunday, December 22, 2024.
Carl was born June 6, 1942 in Comanche, Oklahoma, he worked for the Department of Transportation with the State of Oklahoma until his retirement after his retirement he and Kay ran the concession at Comanche Lake for 18 years. He married Florence "Kay" McDaniel on February 8, 1964 in Henrietta, Texas and she preceded her in death September 11, 2020 and to this union were born Tony Cowan and Carla Cowan.
He was a huge animal lover especially dogs and Bassett Hounds, he loved hunting and mowing his neighbor's lawns all summer. He was an avid O.U. sports fan, also Dallas Cowboy's fan, and would also help anyone with anything he could, he would give the shirt off his back.
He is survived by his daughter; Carla Warren & her husband Robert, and six grandchildren and 12 great-grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his wife; Kay, his son; Tony and 3 sisters.
Pallbearers will be Harley Mefford, Chance Warren, James Reames, Robert Jump, Larry Robison, Kaegan Clark.
