Obituary

Billy Mayberry, 76, passed away peacefully at his home on August 25, 2026, surrounded by the love of his family.

Born to George and Eula Mae Mayberry on September 2, 1949, in Wewoka, Oklahoma. Billy was one of 7 children. He grew up working hard and building up a lifelong work ethic.

Billy Mayberry met Linda Sue Wilkinson, and they married on December 26, 1968. They celebrated 57 years together as husband and wife. Together, they would raise two daughters and a son.

He was dedicated to his family and loved to get them all together. They would play volleyball in the yard, enjoy barbecue dinners, and have the occasional poker night. He was also an avid fisherman and would share the best stories with whoever would listen. He could often be found at the coffee shop chatting over a cup of hot coffee and no doubt telling stories about his family and his fishing trips. A lover of catfishing specifically, there was often the lazy yellow moon coming up and shining through the trees, the perfect setting for a night of fishing.

Family gatherings grew larger and the love stronger as his children married, and he was blessed with grandchildren and great-grandchildren.

Billy was preceded in death by his parents, George and Eula Mae Mayberry; his loving wife, Linda Sue; three brothers, Lonnie, Carl, and Vernon Mayberry; and one sister, Marie Tula. He is survived by his children, Barbara Parker and husband Kyle, Susan Kunselman and husband Brian, and Billy A Mayberry and wife Kristin; his sisters, Edna Patino, Bernice, and Novie; seven grandchildren and eleven great-grandchildren.

Pallbearers will be Kyle Parker, Dylan Mayberry, Colton Kunselman, Max DeHaven, Billy A Mayberry, and Brian Kunselman.

Billy's care has been entrusted to Carter-Smart Funeral Directors. The family will receive visitors on Monday, August 31, 2026, from 6-8 pm at Carter-Smart Funeral Home and a graveside service will be held at Duncan Municipal Cemetery on Tuesday, September 1, 2026, at 10:00 am with Minister Mario Pineda officiating.
