Bernice Jean Beene

Bernice Jean Beene 88, of Duncan, Oklahoma, passed away Sunday, May 26, 2019 at Country Club Care.

Funeral services will be 10:30 A.M. Friday, May 31, 2019 at the Eastside Church of Christ, with Ron Stough officiating, interment will follow at the Duncan Cemetery, and arrangements have been entrusted to the family care of Carter-Smart Funeral Directors.

Bernice was born near Alma, Oklahoma on September 28, 1930 to Aubry & Sophrona "Arington" Smith, she was a lifetime resident of the Duncan area. Bernice married James William "Bill" Beene on September 30, 1950 in Waurika, Oklahoma at the home of Bill's aunt and uncle, to this union were born 2 sons; Jim and Rusty, she was a homemaker and a loving wife , mother, grandmother, great-grandmother. Bernice had been a lifetime resident of the Duncan area and was a member of the Eastside Church of Christ.

Bernice is survived by her husband; Bill of the home, sons; Jim Beene of Comanche, Oklahoma and Rusty Beene of Seminole, Oklahoma, 2 daughter-in-laws; Paula Beene and Debra Beene, a sister; Mary Lou Cormany of Duncan, Oklahoma and 4 grandchildren, 5 great grandchildren and one on the way.

Bernice is preceded in death by her parents; and 8 brothers and sisters.

Pallbearers will be men of the Eastside Church of Christ.
