Barbara Faye Gallop, beloved mother, grandmother, and cherished friend, passed away on July 8, 2026, in Marlow, Oklahoma. Born on September 21, 1943, in Madill, Oklahoma, Barbara’s life was a testament to love, resilience, and unwavering devotion to those she held dear.
Barbara’s story began in the warm confines of Madill, where she was lovingly raised by her parents, Woodrow and Alma Bridgman. The bonds of family played an essential role in shaping the woman she would become—a steadfast sister to Vernon Bridgman and Nella Fairman, both of whom preceded her in death. Through the joys and sorrows, Barbara learned the meaning of loyalty and compassion, values she would later share abundantly in her own home.
Throughout her journey, Barbara was a pillar of strength and comfort to her family. She married the love of her life, Virgil Gallop, on May 31, 1960. Together, they brought two boys into the world. She found joy in motherhood and devoted herself to her sons, Jeff and Randy. Though she endured the heartbreaking loss of her son Randy, Barbara’s profound love continued to illuminate the lives of those around her, a light that never dimmed. In her later years, she warmly welcomed her daughter-in-law Christy Gallop and found endless delight in her grandson, Coby Gallop, whose laughter and accomplishments brought her great pride. Her smile beamed brightest when surrounded by the warmth and laughter of her family.
Barbara treasured her roots, her community, and her role as a nurturing presence. Her journey through life was marked with kindness—always the first to offer a hand to those in need or to brighten someone’s day with her gentle, knowing presence. Her wisdom, patience, and loving heart made her a confidante to many and a guiding light to those she loved most.
Those remaining to honor her memory—her son Jeff Gallop, daughter-in-law Christy Gallop, and beloved grandson Coby Gallop—carry Barbara’s spirit with them. Each remembers her not only for the love she freely gave but for the dignity and grace with which she moved through life’s challenges.
Friends and family are invited to remember Barbara during a visitation on Sunday, July 12, 2026, from 1:00 PM to 3:00 PM at Carter-Smart Funeral Home, located at 1316 W Oak Ave, Duncan, OK. A funeral service celebrating her life will follow on Monday, July 13, 2026, at 10:00 AM, also at Carter-Smart Funeral Home.
As we gather to reflect on Barbara Faye Gallop’s remarkable journey, we hold close the memories, the lessons, and the abiding love she leaves behind. Though she has departed from this world, her presence remains in the hearts of those who were fortunate enough to know her—a gentle reminder of a life lived with love, humility, and unyielding devotion.
