In 1986, I was Boys Basketball Coach at Duncan High School. Our last game of the season we traveled to Altus to play Northeast. The boys went down to dress at halftime of the girls game. Our best player came back up to tell me he had forgot to pack his uniform. I told him he would sit on the bench and help me coach. A few minutes later, Rodney came up to tell me the other player could have his uniform. I told him no, that each player was responsible for himself. He insisted because the other player was our best player and that he (Rodney) probably would not get to play. I told Rodney if that was how he felt then, he could give up his uniform. I have always remembered how giving and thoughtful Rodney was, looking out for others, in this case a team. I have shared that story with teams later on. I am grieved for your loss. But am comforted knowing that God needed another Angel and that some day, I will see Rodney again. Thank you for allowing me to share that special memory.

Words can't express how sorry I am for your loss. Rodney was such a wonderful friend. We met through going to church at Immanuel and stayed friends. He was a true blessing and I will forever be thankful for our friendship. I remember when we would catch up we always talked about how his Mom was doing. He loved her so much. Prayers and love to the family. May he Rest In Peace. We will see him in Heaven again one day.

Linda and Kay, your devotion to Rodney was a beautiful example of God's angels here on earth. He took the love you poured over him and shared it with the rest of the world. I am grateful for the many happy memories I have of my friendship with him. I would give anything for one more talk, one more hug, or to hear that wonderful laugh fill the room. God bless you and your family during this heartbreak.
