Mary Elizabeth Laws
Mary Elizabeth Laws 75, of Duncan, Oklahoma, passed away Saturday, March 10, 2018 at her home surrounded by her family.
Funeral services will be 11:00 a.m. Wednesday, March 14, 2018 at the Carter-Smart Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. Dean & Freda Hall officiating, interment will follow at Sunset Memorial Gardens in Lawton, Oklahoma, and arrangements have been entrusted to the family care of Carter-Smart Funeral Directors.
The family will receive friends for visitation Tuesday evening from 6:00-8:00 p.m. at the Carter-Smart Funeral Home.
Mary was born February 8, 1943 in Rockport, Texas to Alfred & Essie "Stout" Hardin, she had worked at the Grill in downtown Duncan and the First Baptist Church where she and her husband Jerry were members, she was a loving wife, mother, grandmother and great-grandmother, Mary Hardin and Jerry Laws were married April 11, 1961 in Phoenix, Arizona, and together she spent 30 years as military spouse and raising a family while moving from all around the country serving in military post, for her services she was awarded the Artillery Order of Mollie Picture at Ft. Sill Oklahoma, together they raised five children, Gary, Earnest, Ronald, Terry and Brenda.
Survivors include her husband; Jerry of the home, daughter; Brenda Smith & her husband Bryan of Duncan, Oklahoma, sons; Gary & Dee Laws of San Angelo, Texas, Earnest Laws & his wife Brittany of Duncan, Oklahoma, Ronald Laws of Tampa Florida, Terry Laws of Duncan, Oklahoma, Dee. Brothers; Alton McGary of Texas, Leo Hardin of Texas, grandchildren; Matthan Laws, Clayton Cato-Laws, Joseph Laws, Shannon Earls, Jerry Laws, Autumn Laws, Cheyenne Laws, Morgahn Parkhurst-Laws, Micah Parkhurst-Laws, Madisyn Parkhurst-Laws, Alexander Laws, Elizabeth Berger, Robert Laws, Brock Smith, Aaryn Smith and Andrew Laws, and 14 great-grandchildren.
Mary was preceded in death by her parents; Alfred and Essie "Stout" Hardin, sisters; Flo Sanders and Betty Nowlain, brothers; Billy Hardin and Homer Hardin.
Pallbearers will be Earnest Laws, Brenda Smith, Bryan Smith, Gary Laws, Alexander Laws and Robert Laws. Honorary pallbearers will be Ronald Laws, Terry Laws and Elizabeth Berger.
