Leslie "Les" Travis Campbell
Leslie "Les" Travis Campbell 75, of Duncan, Oklahoma, passed away Saturday, May 18, 2019 at Duncan Regional Hospital.
Funeral services will be 10:00 a.m. Wednesday, May 22, 2019 at the Ray of Hope Church with Rev. Mike McCord officiating, interment will follow at the Duncan Cemetery, and arrangements have been entrusted to the family care of Carter-Smart Funeral Directors.
The family will receive friends Tuesday evening from 5:30-7:30 p.m. at the Carter-Smart Funeral Home.
Les was born July 29, 1943 LaJunta, Colorado, to John Elihu & Alberta Jane(Wilbur) Campbell, Les was a veteran serving in the United States Army in Korea during the Viet Nam War from 1962 to 1965. He had worked for Halliburton 35 years in material trucking and shipping dock and as truck driver until his retirement, he was a member and very active, he was on the security team worked in food pantry and helped with the p.e.t. project of the Ray of Hope Church, Les married Sue Smart on April 14, 1971 in Duncan, Oklahoma, he was a loving husband, father, grandfather and great-grandfather.
He is survived by his wife; Sue of the home, daughter; Heather Meadows of Duncan, Oklahoma, he was preceded in death by an infant son; John Travis Campbell, also surviving are 2 brothers; John Elihu Campbell Jr. of Modesto, California, Charles Jones of Grove, Oklahoma, 3 Sisters; Elzene Sanchez of Eastridge Tennesee, Bertha Coslow, of Dallas Texas Sheila Stark Farmersville, Texas , 3 grandchildren; Charity, Dharma and Blake, and a great-grandchild Gaven.
Pallbearers will be Blake Meadows, Craig Bates, Cliff Lindsey,Robert Webb, Mike Webb, Denis Rigdon. Honorary Pallbearers Lower Colley, Hugh Gardenhire, Clinton Whitehead,
Military Honors will be presented by the Stephens County Honor Guard.
