Jean Ann Dryden

Jean Ann Dryden 80, of Duncan, Oklahoma, passed away Wednesday, June 19, 2019 at Duncan Regional Hospital.

Funeral services will be 2:00 p.m. Saturday, June 22, 2019 at the Chapel of the First Baptist Church with Dr. Brad Allen officiating, interment will follow at the Duncan Cemetery, and arrangements have been entrusted to the family care of Carter-Smart Funeral Directors.

The family will receive friends on Friday, June 21, 2019 from 6:00-8:00 p.m. at the Carter-Smart Funeral Home.

Jean Ann was born September 22, 1938 in Chickasha, Oklahoma to Buford C. (Boots) & Leona Juanita (Nita) Treadwell Colbert, Jean Ann had been a resident of Duncan of 69 years moving here from Chickasha with her parents, Jean Ann married Jim Dryden on August 30, 1957 in Duncan, Oklahoma, and to this union two children were born, a son; Jay and a daughter Jamie, Jean Ann was a loving wife, mother, and grandmother, her faith was very important to her and she was a member of the First Baptist Church and had been for 68 years. 

Jean Ann loved to work in her yard and flower beds and received "Yard of The Month" two times. She also loved to travel and spent two years in Kuwait with her family and took a week tour of the Holy Lands. She also lived in England for five years and toured most of the countries in Europe with her family during that time. She also made a trip to Singapore with Jim on one of his many business trips.    

Survivors include her husband; Jim of the home, a son; Jay P. Dryden of Houston, Texas and a daughter; Jamie L. Roe & her husband Kris of Duncan, Oklahoma, a brother; Gary C. Colbert of Uniontown, Ohio and two grandchildren; Michael Phipps & his wife Linda and Megan Cordell of Fayetteville, Arkansas.

Pallbearers will be Wayne Garrett, Leonard Villalon, Earl Hunter, Mike Lawrence, Bill Loughridge and Dr. William Stewart. Honorary pallbearers will be Men of Saints Alive Sunday School Class of the First Baptist Church. 

In Lieu of Flowers memorial contributions may be made to the Alzheimer's Association
