Imogene (McManus) (Blalock) Saunders

     Imogene (McManus) (Blalock) Saunders of Duncan, Oklahoma left this Earthly home for her Heavenly one on, May 31, 2019. She was 90 years old and passed peacefully in her sleep.

     Funeral service will be held at 10:00 a.m. Friday, June 7, 2019 at the Carter-Smart Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. Todd Davison officiating, interment will follow at Resthaven Memorial Gardens, all services will be completed at the funeral home chapel and there will be no graveside services at the cemetery.

     Imogene was born on July 17, 1928 in Mountain View, Oklahoma, to Ira and Rosa McManus, preceding her in death several years ago. She was a graduate of Velma Alma High School. She moved to Reseda, California in 1955, working fro Electronic and Rocketdyne, she later moved to Beaverton, Oregon. She returned to Duncan, Oklahoma in 1972 with her husband Kenneth E. Saunders who preceded her in death in 1973.

     Imogene was the mother of four children, two preceded her in death; Debra M. Blalock of Duncan, Oklahoma in 1999 and Patricia (Blalock) Quinterous of Northridge, California in 2006. 

     Surviving children are Wesla (Blalock) Arambulo of Lancaster, California, and Harold K. Saunders and his wife Lori of Oklahoma City, Oklahoma. She is also survived by her sister; Evelyn Williams of Duncan, Oklahoma, 3 grandson; Charles Quinteros of Los Angeles California, Richard Quinteros, David Quinteros and wife Belinda of Reseda, California, and son-in-law Carlos Quinteros of Northridge, California, 2 granddaughters; Pamela Blalock of Ada Oklahoma and Jennifer Saunders of Mankato, Minnesota and 4 great-grandchildren; Landon, Mattie, and Nina Mae Quinteros of Reseda, California and Liam Davies of Noble, Oklahoma.

     She was also preceded in death by her brothers; R.B. McManus and sisters; Lavena Passarino and Opal Powell.

     Imogene was a member of Immanuel Baptist Church for several years and also enjoyed spending time in later years at the Senior Citizen Center in Duncan, Oklahoma, and spending the last several month close to her son and daughter-in-law at Northhaven Place in Oklahoma City.
