     Alvie Clark Chasteen 85, a lifetime resident of Duncan, Oklahoma, went to be with his Lord July 11, 2018 with his family by his side.

Funeral services will be 2:00 p.m. Friday, July 13, 2018 at Bethel Assembly Church with his pastor Bro. Ron Meador officiating. Interment will follow at the Duncan Cemetery and arrangements have been entrusted to the family care of Carter-Smart Funeral Directors.

The family will receive friend for visitation from 6:00-8:00 p.m. on Thursday, July 12, 2018 at the Carter-Smart Funeral Home.

Alvie was born December 11, 1932 to Frank & Mattie (Shults) Chasteen, Alvie married the love of his life Estella Johnson in 1952. Alvie served his country in the U.S. Army in the 1950's. He worked at the Duncan Police Dept. for 22 years and Dist. 2 County Commissioner for 10 years.

Alvie & Estella were married 65 years and had 1 daughter Elanna Kaye Chasteen, and a special son; Don Ashton,  2 grandsons; Bryan Hedrick & his wife Jennifer & Brad Hedrick. He had 6 grandchildren and 2 great-great grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by his parents, 2 brothers, 3 sisters and 1 great grandson.

He is survived by his wife; Estella of the home, his daughter; Elanna Kaye Chasteen of Duncan, Oklahoma, and son; Don Ashton,  2 grandsons, 6 great grandchildren, 2 great-great grandchildren and 1 brother Charles F. Chasteen of Midwest City, Oklahoma and a sister; Lillie Shuey of Whitesboro, Texas.

Pallbearers will be Lyndol Shults, Don Ashton, Don Chapman, Doug Saafrank, Cecil Darren and Lynn Headrick. Honorary pallbearers will be Dale Anderson and Bobby Ross.
