Franklin Deuwain Sanner

Franklin Deuwain Sanner 90, of Duncan, Oklahoma, passed away Friday, March 8, 2024 at his home in Duncan.

Funeral services will be 1:00 p.m. Wednesday, March 13, 2024 at the Carter-Smart Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. Joe Taylor, interment will follow at the Duncan Cemetery. Arrangements have been entrusted to the family care of Carter-Smart Funeral Directors.

The family will receive friends on Tuesday, March 12, 2024 at the Carter-Smart Funeral Home from 6:00-7:00 p.m.

Deuwaine was born January 5, 1934 in Duncan, Oklahoma to John W. & Agnes (Hlavaty) Sanner, Deuwain attended Duncan Schools, played football for Duncan High School and graduated from Duncan High School in 1953. He was a gauger for Mobil Oil Company until his retirement after 38 years, Deuwaine loved to fish and watch college football he was a fan of both, Oklahoma University and Oklahoma State University. Deuwain married Wanda Jean Brooks on July 10, 1954 in Duncan and to this marriage were born tweo daughters; Paula and Becky, they were married 50 years until Wanda’s death.

Survivors include his daughters; Paula Brown and her husband Bill of Tampa, Florida, and Becky Sanner of Duncan, Oklahoma, grandson’s Billy Brown & his wife Ruthy of Sarasota, Florida and Michael Brown of Tampa, Florida, great-grandchildren; Liam Brown, Shane Brown, Mack Brown all of Sarasota, Florida.

Deuwain was preceded in death by his wife, Wanda and his parents, John W. and Agnes Sanner brothers, John (Mookie) Sanner and Bennie Sanner, a sister Shirley D. Dorman and her husband Larry.
