Terry W. Sims

     Terry W. Sims 68, passed away Sunday, October 15, 2017 at Integris Baptist Medical Center in Oklahoma City, Oklahoma.

     Funeral services will be 2:00 p.m. Friday, October 20, 2017 at the Carter-Smart Funeral Home Chapel, with Rev. Tracy Wilson officiating, interment will follow at the Duncan Cemetery, and arrangements have been entrusted to the family care of Carter-Smart Funeral Directors.

     The family will receive friends Thursday evening October 19, 2017 from 6:00-8:00 p.m. at the Carter-Smart Funeral Home.

     Terry was born July 28, 1949 in Duncan, Oklahoma, he had been a resident of Duncan area most of his life, he graduated from Duncan High School in 1967, he was a veteran of the U.S. Navy  from 1968 to 1977 as a Sonar Technician. He retired from Oceaneering and was a POV Operator at the time of his retirement. Terry married his wife Cheryl January 26, 2008 in Duncan, Oklahoma..

     Terry is survived by his wife; Cheryl of the home, a son; Donald Sims, daughter-in-law, Bobbie Sims & granddaughter; Teri Sims of Houston, Texas, a daughter; Teresa Sims Acosta, son-in-law, Ernie Acosta, grandson; Kenny Acosta & granddaughter; Daniela Acosta of Iowa Park, Texas, his parents; Calvin Cleo Sims & Billie Jean (Shelton) Sims of Duncan, Oklahoma, a brother; Randy Sims & daughter-in-law Linda Sims, of Duncan, Oklahoma, step-daughter; Lorie Wells, step-granddaughter, Sara Bender & step-grandson, Devyn Parrish of Central High, Oklahoma, stepson; Jeffrey Wells, step-daughter-in-law, Nicole Wells, & step-grandson; Jaxon Wells of Brick, New Jersey, nephews; T.J. Ausmus of Oklahoma City, Oklahoma & Adam Sims of Comanche, Oklahoma, nieces; Michelle Lohan & husband Tim of Sicily, Italy, and Crystal Trammell & husband Aaron of Yukon, Oklahoma.

     Pallbearers will be T.J. Ausmus, Chris Millers, Adam Sims, Kenny Langdeau, Kyle Collins and Justin Sims. Honorary pallbearers will be Aaron Trammel, Ernie Acosta, Mark Gourney and Blake Gourney.
