G. L. Tilley

     G. L. Tilley 87 of Marlow, Oklahoma, passed away, Thursday, December 14, 2017 at Duncan Regional Hospital with his family at his side.

     Funeral services will be 10:30 a.m. Monday, December 18, 2017 at the First Christian Church with Rev. Dennis Hall and Rev. Arnold Nelson officiating, and interment will follow at the Hope Cemetery, and arrangements have been entrusted to the family care of Carter-Smart Funeral Directors.

     The family will receive friends for visitation Sunday evening from 5:00-7:00 p.m. at the Carter-Smart Funeral Home.

     G. L. was born July 23, 1930 in Stephens County to James Walter and Susan Alice (Towell) Tilley, G.L. was a veteran of the Korean War serving in the United States Army, he worked as a dairyman and worked for Halliburton Company and owned a convenience store on the corner of 81 Hwy. & Oak and was a Hot Shot Truck Driver. G.L. married Ula May Womack on July 17, 1954 in Marlow, Oklahoma and two this union was born a son; Jimmy Don and a daughter; Carla Jean.

     Survivors include his wife; Ula May of the home, a son; Jimmy Don Tilley and his wife Kimberly of Duncan, Oklahoma, a daughter; Carla Jean (Tilley) Bijan of Oklahoma City, Oklahoma, grandsons; Paul Bennett Tilley and his wife Hilary and Jesse Ray Tilley, granddaughters; Jacqueline Bijan Larrocco and her husband Chris and Jennifer Bijan, great- grandchildren; Kendall and Michael Tilley and Audrey and Zoey Larrocco and a brother; Melvin Clayton Tilley of Andover, Kansas.

     G.L. was preceded in death by his parents; siblings; Doyle Tilley, Lucille Halloway, Ernestine Pitts and Lloyd Tilley, grandson; Kyle Austin Tilley and a son-in-law; Mehrdad Bijan.

     Pallbearers will be David Pearson, Rusty Womack, Jamie Graham, Scotty Womack, Shawn Barnett, Allen Graham. Honorary pallbearers will be Justin McLearan, Larry Adkinson, Ricky Tilley, Ronnie Graham, Todd Barnett and Jerry Tilley .

     Military Honors will be provided by the Stephens County Honor Guard.
